Working principle of the eccentric eddy current separator

Eddy current separators operate based on electromagnetic induction. Inside the machine, a high-speed rotating magnetic rotor generates a rapidly changing magnetic field. When conductive metals such as aluminum or copper pass through this magnetic field, eddy currents are generated within the metal.

These eddy currents generate a reverse magnetic field, creating a strong repulsive force. Therefore, non-ferromagnetic metals are thrown forward and separated from other materials.

Simultaneously, non-conductive materials such as plastics, rubber, and glass fall due to gravity, thus achieving efficient metal separation.
